Eyebrow Transplant

Eyebrow transplant is a precise micro-surgical procedure that restores natural-looking eyebrows lost to over-plucking, trauma, alopecia or genetic thinning. Single-hair grafts are harvested from your scalp and implanted into the brow area at a steep angle to follow the natural growth direction. The result is permanent, fully customisable, and removes the need for makeup, microblading or daily touch-ups.

What is Eyebrow Transplant?

Like other FUE procedures, eyebrow transplantation moves your own follicles from a donor area (the nape) to the eyebrow region. The challenge is the angle: eyebrow hair lies almost flat against the skin, so channels are opened at just 10-15° to mimic the natural pattern. Most cases use 100-400 grafts per eyebrow.

Sapphire FUE and DHI are both used for eyebrow work. DHI is often preferred because the Choi pen allows the surgeon to control the exact direction and angle of each individual graft.

Who is a Good Candidate?

  • People with over-plucked or thinning eyebrows
  • Patients with eyebrow scars from trauma, burns or surgery
  • Patients with alopecia areata (when stable)
  • Anyone who wants permanent, fuller brows without makeup
  • People with naturally sparse brows

How is it Performed?

  1. Design: The new brow shape is drawn together with you — width, arch height, tail length.
  2. Donor preparation: A small donor strip on the nape is trimmed and anaesthetised.
  3. Single-follicle harvesting: Only single-hair grafts are selected.
  4. Implantation: Each graft is placed at the correct angle, direction and density — head of the brow gets denser placement.
  5. Symmetry check: Both brows are reviewed together for shape and balance.

Recovery

  • Day 1-3: Mild swelling and small scabs.
  • Day 7-10: Scabs clear; brows look thin (shock loss possible).
  • Month 3-4: New brow hair starts to grow.
  • Month 8-12: Final density and natural shape achieved.

Important to Know

  • Eyebrow hair grows like scalp hair — you will need to trim them regularly (every 2-3 weeks).
  • The result is permanent, but daily grooming is required to keep the brow shape.
  • Brows can be tinted, shaped or styled normally once fully healed.

Advantages

  • Permanent, natural eyebrow density
  • No more makeup or microblading touch-ups
  • Customisable shape — arch, tail, width
  • Hides scars in the eyebrow area
  • Quick procedure — typically 2-4 hours

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the brows look natural?

Yes. Single-follicle grafts at the correct angle produce brows indistinguishable from natural growth.

Do transplanted brows grow long?

Yes — because they come from the scalp, they grow continuously and need to be trimmed every 2-3 weeks.

How many grafts per brow?

Typically 100-400 per eyebrow depending on existing density and target shape.

Is it painful?

No — local anaesthesia keeps it pain-free. Mild tenderness for 1-2 days is normal.

Is the result permanent?

Yes — the donor follicles are genetically resistant to shedding.
